AAFCO - Association of American Feed Control Officials NRC - National Research Council CVMA - Canadian Veterinary Medical Association 1 Presumes an energy density of 4kcal metabolizable energy/g dry matter (respectively 4000kcal metabolizable energy/kg). 2 The NRC recommended allowance of taurine for highly digestible purified diets is 0.4g/kg diet (0.04%DM) whereas for dry expanded and canned diets it is 1.7 g/kg DM (0.17%DM). The AAFCO allowance of taurine for extruded diets is 0.1% DM whereas for canned diets it is 0.2%DM. |
